The Maya-style wedding is conducted by a shaman in the original form and all of it is done in Mayan language, we will provide a translator. This ceremony is available every day upon confirmation, and lasts about half an hour.
The couple is accompanied by the sound of musical instruments, singing and incense until they reach the altar, where
they received a first blessing. A Mayan prayer begins asking for the permission, care and blessing of the four cardinal points. The couple introduces herself and shares the sacred drink in order to strengthen
the soul. The couple is blessed with the smoke of the “copal” and the bracelets are given, which are a
representation of the rings and the love that
holds them together. After another pray and blessing to the four elements the couple make a
grain and cocoa offering with the intention of creating a beautiful relationship. Later,
they are blessed with white and yellow
petals representing
the sun
and moon, man and women, and symbolizing the union of their lives.
Finally,
they will make an offering to the sea to
the sound of music, singing and tap winding.
